Appellant, [appell]ante. adj. verbal. Qui appelle d'un jugement. Il est appellant de cette Sentence. elle est appellante. se rendre appellant. estre receu appellant.
Il est quelquefois subst. L'appellant & l'intimé.
Visage d'appellant, Se dit de celuy qui est triste d'avoir perdu son procez, & qui en a appellé. Il avoit un vrai visage d'appellant.
Il se dit figur. de tous ceux qui ont le visage abbatu par quelque maladie ou quelque autre affliction. Il est tousjours triste, c'est un visage d'appellant.
Appellant, Se dit de ces oiseaux qui servent pour appeller les autres, & les faire venir dans les filets. Un bon appellant.
